Black and white photography is a timeless art form and often can result in a more dramatic image. There’s something especially appealing about great black and white photography. It has a timeless quality to it and may even remind us of the early days of photography. A black and white image can be striking, engaging, breathtaking, and definitely moody. An image void of color tends to remove any distraction a scene adopts from color and gives way to shadows, patterns, textures, and lines. These elements often produce the most compelling and striking images.
Selected Juror: Amy ‘DangRabbit’ Medina – Amy Medina is an accomplished professional photographer who caught the eye of the Long Island Photo Gallery curators years ago with her ‘Picture A Day’ project. Rarely will you find Amy without a camera in her hands. As a result, her art photography portfolio is extensive and it is eclectic! We are excited to have Amy as our juror for this exhibit!
